A time for weeping and a time to laugh ...

Love letter for a Sunday . . . a time for weeping and a time to laugh, a time to mourne and a time to dance
.
It is the second year anniversary of our dear Father's death today. I have had 2 verses running through my head the last few days. One being there is a time for weeping and a time to laugh, a time to mourne and a time to dance..." and the other one being a John O'Brien verse, "The years have turned the rusty key, and time is on the jog, Yet spend another night with me around the boree log..."
.
Our father was amongst other things a wonderful poet. These are 2 of his poems above. He would easily recite many a poem with gusto and you felt like you were a part of his pieces when he recited. There was tears, there was laughter and a lot of black humour. These times were very precious to us all as well as our bedtime stories. I am sure that was the last thing he felt like doing after a big day working in the paddocks. But he did each and every night, encouraging us to sleep well and have sweet dreams. What an amazing man he was. We all miss him so much and i am so glad we do because if we didn't miss him then he would not have had such a big impact on us all. There is no end time for grief, it is carried each and everyday in your suitcase of life.
.
Our father taught me to see the good in everyone, to let a lot go (this is a work in process!!) Be with people when they are talking with you and listen with your whole body, say your prayers and be grateful and appreciate your faith. Be kind, take time out for yourself and don't be afraid to be alone. To laugh and have a joke...this is where the black humour comes in! The Corkhill's have a gift for Black Humour!!
And there is so much more.
.
I think we really need to appreciate these days we have as John O'Brien says "and time is on the jog.."
.
So today remember your own loved ones they have moved on from this world and notice the signs around you to show you they are all still very close to us.
I watched the sun dance this morning and then the Kookuburra's started laughing...that was my sign from Dad to say i'm still around and go and have a beautiful day.
My love and thoughts with you all this Sunday
