Love letter for Mothers xxoo

Time doesn't grow on trees! Xx
.
I have been working on this painting for a few weeks now. I have been thinking about how hard it must be for new mothers at the moment in this isolation time. It is hard at the best of time! Hoping you are all going ok.

Motherhood is amazing, challenging, uplifting, sad, hard, joyous, tender, rewarding, judgemental, emotional and so many other things! When our first baby was born, Archie, it was amazing, and it was a huge shock. We were used to our own time and all of a sudden, this little human needed and depended on us. It was the steepest learning curve we had ever known!! All of a sudden time was gone...it didn't grow on trees; it was precious and it just went with what it seemed not very much done! In actual fact so much was being done, we were doing one of the most important jobs in the world! I didn't feel very much like that then and like all new mums, there was a lot of ups and downs. My beautiful mother came to stay with us and supported and gently guided us. Mum had 10 children, a nurse, midwife and a very practical loving teacher in motherhood and life. I remember thinking how blest i was to have my beautiful mother with us as i had dear friends who had lost their beautiful mothers.

Each birth and motherhood experience is unique to each mother and my 4 were just that. Learning as we go on and taking the past experiences as a guide to what we might do or not do differently. I had a wonderful friend and mentor that helped me with my next 3 pregnancies and births. Danette was a God send! We created and self-published 2 books together on pregnancy, birth and motherhood. “25 Ways to Awaken your Birth Power” and “25 Ways to Joy and Inner Peace for Mothers”. It was such a positive journey and project. And still 16 years on, the books are being passed around. @danettewatson22. Trix was the inspiration here. Monty and Maurie, the result of a lot of mental work to deliver twins naturally. Four very different experiences but ones that resulted in 4 healthy happy babies! xxxx
.
Make your motherhood journey your own, knowing that we all stuff up but being brave enough to own your behaviour and to learn from it. Every one of us is doing our best and this can differ depending on the day!♥️.

These last weeks with all our 4 babes home has been an absolute blessing and one that is precious. Yes there has been our ups and downs but I wouldn't change a thing. Maybe that is something a lot of people are feeling. We were all on the treadmill and we didn’t know how to get off, but then we were all forced to jump off. We can now re-evaluate things and we can choose to a degree what we go back into.
.
The things I have learnt in my Motherhood Journey thus far are, To Embrace motherhood, ask for help and learn to be flexible.
I amtruly blest to have the opportunity to be a mother as I know some are not quiteas fortunate and you are in my thoughts.
Allmy love, Steph xx
